Tropicalization of Electronic Boards – What are the advantages?

The tropicalization of electronic circuit boards is an essential practice to protect these components in demanding environments, such as maritime and offshore environments. Here are some of the main advantages of applying conformal coating (conformal coating) to electronic boards exposed to saline environments and corrosive gases:

  1. Critical feature in the design of PCBs.
    Despite the name given to it, it isn’t used only in PCBs to be used in tropical areas, I’ve been designing PCBs with conformal coating as a requirement for any application involving damp locations according to CSA C22.1:24, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, Section 0, Definitions, Location.
